Let's start at the very beginning
Welcome to Café Curiosity.
Welcome to Café Curiosity.
No, this is not a blog about coffee (though sometimes it might be). If you are a lifelong learner with ever-shifting curiosity, you are in the right place.
Hey, I’m Mau. For a while, I’ve wanted to create a site that works like a modern-day coffeehouse: a place where ideas brew, conversations spark, and you leave knowing something you didn’t when you walked in.
We don’t chase fads or obsess over a single niche. Instead, we explore whatever brings joy to life and work, or is simply too interesting not to write about.
Why the name Café Curiosity?
In A History of the World in 6 Glasses, Tom Standage describes the European coffeehouses of the 17th century as:
“Coffeehouses were centers of self-education, literary and philosophical speculation, commercial innovation, and, in some cases, political fermentation. But above all they were clearinghouses for news and gossip, linked by the circulation of customers, publications, and information from one establishment to the next. Collectively, Europe’s coffeehouses functioned as the Internet of the Age of Reason.”
That’s exactly what I wanted to build. So I named it accordingly.
Pull up a chair. Let’s get curious.
